Alex Criss MA, LMFTA

Alex Criss provides therapy to couples, families, and women.

My Approach

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who works primarily with individual adults and couples. Through my own life experiences, I've come to understand that connection – both with ourselves and with others – is essential to our wellbeing and sense of belonging. Yet so often, we lose touch with that connection.

Maybe you've been struggling with anxiety, depression, or life transitions. Maybe you're questioning who you are beneath all the people-pleasing, self-doubt, or patterns that keep you stuck. Or perhaps you and your partner keep landing in familiar territory that doesn't feel good, longing for deeper connection but unsure how to find your way out. If any of this resonates, I want you to know: change is possible. I believe you already have what you need within you, and together, we'll explore those inner resources.

I approach therapy with warmth, authenticity, curiosity, and humor, creating a collaborative space where you're the expert of your own experience. My work is integrative and holistic, drawing from experiential, narrative, somatic, mindfulness, and attachment-based approaches that honor the relationships, family dynamics, social systems, and cultural contexts that shape us. I believe the stories we tell about ourselves profoundly influence our lives, and that making space to fully experience our emotions – the ones that are comfortable and the ones that feel messy – is essential to growth and transformation.

My work is anchored in the belief that therapy can be a homecoming: to ourselves and to our relationships. When we reconnect with our authentic identity and values, we create the foundation for deeper connection with others. With individuals, this might look like exploring overlooked or suppressed parts of yourself, making sense of past experiences, and untangling patterns that no longer support growth and wellbeing. With couples, we bring awareness to familiar dynamics, practice new ways of interacting, and explore the unspoken thoughts, feelings, and needs that often get lost. Whether you come alone or with your partner, my hope is that you leave each session feeling seen, heard, and more connected to yourself and others.
